Taylor Swift, after an immensely successful US tour, is now taking her Eras tour to South America. Ahead of her upcoming shows at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires from November 9-11, fans have reportedly camped out for five months to secure the best spots.

According to a report by Pitchfork, hundreds of fans have set up four tents outside the stadium, following a strict schedule of rotations to maintain their spots. Most have general admission tickets, aiming to get as close to the stage as possible once the doors open.

Pitchfork mentioned an internal spreadsheet monitored by organizers and tent members, ensuring constant occupancy in the tents. Participation rules, leaked online at the beginning of the camping in June, demand at least one overnight stay in the tents and a minimum commitment of 60 hours a month. This system prioritizes those who invest more time, granting them better positions at the show.

Fans, predominantly young women, are seen dedicating significant time to camping, some staying for five months, hiding the endeavor from their families. They have faced criticism from passersby, some shouting against their camping routine.

Swift's fanbase, known as Swifties, are acknowledged for their organization and advocacy. Last December, US fans took legal action against Ticketmaster for a distressing ticket-buying experience for the Eras tour. The tour began in March and is set to continue through 2024 after the South American leg concludes this year. The recent concert film from the Los Angeles shows has achieved the title of the highest-grossing concert film in the US after a single weekend of release.
