Taylor Swift appears to be leaving the "Deadpool & Wolverine" cast after all. Though persistent speculations have her playing Dazzler, Swift will not be in the much awaited MCU movie, according to an Entertainment Weekly article.
Fans speculated about Swift's involvement in September 2022 after observing that the "Deadpool & Wolverine" announcement trailer was shot in the same spot as Swift's "All Too Well: The Short Film." Resurfacing in October 2023, Swift was spotted at a Kansas City Chiefs game against the New York Jets with actors Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as well as director Shawn Levy.
Some fans even conjectured that Ladypool, who was seen in the most recent teaser, might be Swift. IMAX also just debuted a "Deadpool & Wolverine" Best Friends Day advertisement that saw the characters donning friendship bracelets linked to Swift's Eras Tour.
Prior to this, Levy was vague about the prospect of a Swift appearance. Not confirming or rejecting the allegations, Levy stated in an October 2023 interview with the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, "Literally, I feel like, oh wow, I went to a football game a couple weeks ago and I had a really good time with friends and I am thrilled to be talking about other things."
Even with Swift missing, Levy has hinted that "Deadpool & Wolverine" would have a lot of cameos—at least one of which has already been confirmed. What surprises the movie has in store for audiences when it opens on July 26 will have to wait.
