Travis Kelce's Jersey Sales Soar: The Taylor Swift Effect

Kansas City Chiefs standout Travis Kelce was having a magical turn of events in his life when rumours started to circulate that he might be dating none other than singing and songwriting sensation Taylor Swift. The rumours were rife when, during Sunday's drubbing of Chicago, Swift was seen cheering for Kelce in the luxury box.
While it all remains to be seen as to how this would end up, clearly something might be brewing between Swift and Kelceâeither true love or just some clean fun. Swift's fans embraced Kelce fully as well, with the fan following getting an enormous boost due to these romance stories.
Just in the last 24 hours, Kelce has picked up about 300,000 new Instagram followers, and his merchandise sales have jumped by 400 percent while carrying around one of the top-five selling jerseys currently in the NFL, according to Joe Pompliano.
Sunday was a storybook day for the 33-year-old Kelce. With Swift on hand, he put together quite a show, with seven receptions on eight targets for 69 yards and a touchdown in Kansas City's 41-10 victory. Afterwards, he and Taylor were spotted exiting Arrowhead Stadium arm-in-arm and holding hands as they shared some smiles that could connect them much like they did at the palms.
For days now, rumours have run rampant through sports and celebrity tabloids about a budding romance between Kelce and Swift. Patrick Mahomes talked about it; Micah Parsons has talked about it; and Bill Belichick spoke on the subject. Indeed, Well, I would say that Travis Kelce has had a lot of big catches in his career. This would be the biggest, said Belichick with a wry smile. If nothing else, it seems Kelce knows how to catch hearts - and not just footballs, either.
