The Government of Andhra Pradesh has made an announcement saying Maya Bazaar's colur version, released on the 30th, will be exempted from entertainment tax.

The legendary Telugu film, which was released on March 27 1957, was directed by KV Reddy and starred Late NT Rama Rao as Lord Krishna, A Nageswara Rao as Abhimanyu, Late Gummadi as Balarama and Late SV Ranga Rao as Ghatothkach. Mahanati (Late) Savithri was seen in the role of Sasirekha.

The film has been brought before the audience in a colourised version by Trinity Infra Ventures. It has been marketed by RB Chowdhary of Super Good Films.

The film boasts of many musical masterpieces like Ahana Pellianta, Sundari Oho Sundari and Vivaha Bhojanambu. Also, Relangi's role of Lakshmana Kumara and Mukkamala's Duryodhana, not to forget CSR's Shakuni, became all-time famous characters.

It is only fitting that the film has been exempted of tax, as it represents the best cinematic values.
