It was on this day (October 13) in 2000 that 'Nuvve Kavali' hit the screens. Directed by K Vijaya Bhaskar, the film marked the debut of Tarun as a lead man. He was a star child artiste earlier. Starring Richa Pallod as the heroine, the rom-com featured Sai Kiran Ram in a key role.

Marking its 20th anniversary on Tuesday, Tarun posted a few pics of him celebrating the movie with his parents and sister. "Thank you for all the love," he wrote on Instagram.

The blockbuster had dialogues by Trivikram Srinivas, while the screenplay was by the director himself. Sunil, Trivikram's roommate in Hyderabad, became a much-noticed comedian because of the film.

A winner of the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu, 'Nuvve Kavali' also won four South Filmfare Awards.

It ran for 200 days in 20 centers, besides celebrating a golden jubilee on the 365th day in 6 centres. Made by Ramoji Rao's Ushakiran Movies on a shoe-string budget, it made tonnes of money at the box-office.
