The team of the 2011 blockbuster 'Tanu Weds Manu' is back with the fun, family entertainer, reliving old memories coupled with newer perspectives. A sequel in the truest sense of the word, 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns', takes off from where the film ended and takes audiences through life after the happy ending.
Contrary to the perception about Bollywood reboots that seem to be in trend, the latest version of Anand L Rai's hit 2011 film, 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns', starring R.Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut among others, will present an original sequel.
What makes the film unique from the rest is the fact that while the story changes and evolves, the fun loving characters remain the same and so does the milieu of the entire family - barring one new entrant, Datto, a Haryani athlete essayed by Kangana Ranaut. And while 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' is a pure sequel, audiences who haven't viewed the first film will still enjoy this wholesome family entertainer.
Said producer Krishika Lulla, "Tanu Weds Manu Returns is an extension of its previous part. It continues where it ended unlike the sequels we have in Bollywood where either the storyline is changed or the leads are replaced with other actors."
Quirky, unconventional and coming-of-age, 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' has something for everyone.Talking about the film said director-producer Aanand L Rai, "Tanu Weds Manu Returns has a real story to tell with a natural progression of the 4 years that have gone by. What makes it an original sequel is that we have retained the characters, the essence and the flavour of the film, while introducing a few new elements. If audiences have seen the original, it will be like reliving old memories and for those who haven`t,Tanu Weds Manu Returns as an independent film too will continue to entertain for what it is".
Eros International and Colour Yellow Productions' 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' is scheduled to release 22nd May.
