Tanmatra, Anandabhadram and Albhutha Dweep share the glory

The 36th Annual State Film Awards were distributed yesterday, with Tanmatra, Anandabhadram and Albhutha Dweep sharing much of the glory. The function organized by the State Chalachithra Academy was organized in a low profile manner than usual, following the instructions from the state election commision.

The minister for culture, Mr. K.C. Venugopal, who attented the function couldn't even walk to the stage or distribute a single award due to election norms. The most senior actress of Malayalam cinema, Aranmula ponnamma, who turned 92 last month distributed the awards as per the roll call.

Mohanlal as best actor, Blessy for best script and best direction, Raju Mathew for best film were the major awards that went for Tanmatra. Majority of the technical awards were shared between Anandabhadram, Albhutha Dweep and Kanne Madanguka.

Dileep, who got a special award for his actig in Chandupottu, and Adoor Gopalakrishanan, who got an award for best documentory were not present to receive the awards. The award function was followed by Ganamela led by K.S. Chithra, who also got an award for best female singer for her song in Nottam.
