Fair performance of Ajay Devgan-starrer "Tango Charlie" - released March 25 - seems to have raised the film's distributors' hopes.

"The film has fared better than we had expected considering the ongoing cricket matches and school examinations," said Rupen Amlani, vice president of Ashtavinayak Cine Vision that has acquired the film's rights.

"Its collections dropped after the initial three days, but it hasn't fared too badly. We are expecting the business to pick up with no significant releases in the present week."

According to Amlani, the ongoing traders' strike against VAT (Value Added Tax) has proved to be a blessing in disguise for the cinemas.

Meanwhile, Ashtavinayak Cine Vision is now gearing up for its next major release, "Dus".

According to him, the first promos of the film will start airing in a few weeks. "They are the best promos ever made for any film and we are definitely expecting them to create some sensation," he says.
