Tamilisai receives threatening phone calls after 'Mersal' issue

Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Mersal’ which received severe condemnation from the ruling party’s senior politicians went on to create national debate on the righ to freedom of speech and expression. BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan received flak for threatening to file a case if the dislogues with reference to GST are not taken off.

Now Tamilisai has stated that she has been receiving threatening phone calls. Furthermore she added that she only pointed the mistake in the film and wasn’t trying to pull in new party members.

“As one has the right to express their idea, one also has the right register their odisagreement with the said subject. I have been receiving threatening phone calls from the time I pointed out the mistake in ‘Mersal’,” she said.

Tamilisai also expressed her grief that she has been criticized wrongly in the internet and advocated that such behaviour is innappropriate.
