The appointment of Karnataka’s MK Surappa as the Vice Chancellor of the Anna University hasn’t been received well by political parties in the state. We very well know that even Rajinikanth had opined on the same.
Rajini said that people of the country have their rights to do their job in any state and it was wrong to make this into a political issue. However, Rajini also stated that it wasn’t proper to appoint a person from Karnataka as the Vice Chancellor when there is a tiff between the two states already over Cauvery.
BJP’s Tamilisai Saoundararajan seems all not impressed bu Rajini’s statements. “Would you have become a Superstar if 40 years back, people of Tamil Nadu hadn’t accepted you as one?” she questioned. Stating that Tamil Nadu is a state which welcomes talent with open arms, she opined that Rajini’s opinions on the matter as something laughable.
It is worth mentioning here that netizens have been condemning Tamilisai's statements and supporting Rajini that his 'Superstar' status was given by the people themselves, not by a an order pronounced by the government.
