At a Vinayaka Chathurthi celebration organized by the BJP and the Hindu Munani, the former's chief Tamilisai Soundarajan was speaking to newsmen when an auto driver Kathir intervened and questioned her about the fuel prices hike. The BJP and HM cadres manhandled the elderly man and shoved him away. Kathir had later told newsmen that to run their families auto drivers like him need to earn atleast rupees 500 per day which is becoming impossible due to the fuel price hike and he just wanted to bring it to the notice of the BJP leader.
There was a widespread uproar on social media and even national broadcast media who showed footage of the Tamil Nadu BJP chief smiling when her people gave Kathir the shove. Tamilisai Soundarajan has set the record straight by visiting Kathir's home with a huge sweet box and engaging in pleasantries with his families while her partymen too behaved in the kindest manner possible to the family as witnessed in the video below.
