New Delhi-based International Human Rights Organization (IHRO), a watchdog of human rights violations within the country, has awarded Tamil Nadu BJP president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan with the ‘best Indian woman politician’ of the year award.
Tamilisai, daughter of former Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president Kumari Anandan and niece of Vasanth & Co group’s chairman Vasanthakumar, has been active in taking the BJP forward in Tamil Nadu in the past few years. She has also been raising her voice in matters of public interest in general and concerning women’s issues in general.
A staunch supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the various measures that the Prime Minister has been taking including the demonetization drive and the GST implementation, Tamilisai’s objective is to spread and popularize the BJP at the grassroots level. She has since been chosen as the ‘best Indian woman politician’ for the year 2017 by IHRI which presented the award yesterday to her.
The function was held in Chennai yesterday where a beaming Tamilisai received the award amid the clapping of party cadres and well-wishers.
