Celebrated Tamil writer Balakumaran passes away today in a private hospital where he was admitted due to heart ailments. He was 71 and is survived by his wives Kamala and Shantha and children Gowri and Suriya.
Balakumaran has several novels and literary works to his credit and his exemplary work in Tamil has been much appreciated by the people. He has also directed the Bhagyaraj starrer 'Idhu Namma Aalu' apart from contributing to several films including 'Nayagan', 'Guna', 'Gentleman', 'Jeans', 'Manmadhan' and 'Pudhupettai'.
