Tamil director arrested for sexually harassing actress

A young director has been arrested by the Kanathur police after an actress lodged a sexual harassment case against him. Ranjith from Sholinganallur is said to be directing a web series in which Virugambakkam resident actress Shwetha is playing a major character.
Shwetha had filed her complaint to the Adyar Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikraman who then ordered an inquiry. It was found that Ranjith had indeed sexually harassed Shwetha and has been taken into custody.
The police have also reportedly warned Ranjith's assistant directors for acting as a go-between and forcing Shwetha to fall in love with their chief and give in to his demands.
