Ekta Kapoor has recently filed a petition to stall the remake of 'Drishyam' in Hindi, there's another petition filed by Satheesh Paul in Ernakulam District court asking to stop the Tamil remake of the same. Satheesh allegedly claims his book which was published in May 2013, Oru Mazhakalathu` carries the original story of 'Drishyam' which was released in December 2013. The court has now declared that the Tamil remake will not take place until the case is cleared.
Satheesh claims further he approached many producers since 2009 with the script he worked with and to his bad luck he couldn't convince anyone. He met Antony Perumbavoor the producer of 'Drishyam' who did not show any interest and Satheesh went to make the movie with different producers on a low budget and set his sights for April 2014 release.
Jeethu Jospeh who is a friend of Satheesh narrated the story of 'Drishyam' and promised it's just a family drama. Later when the movie released Satheesh found that 'Drishyam' is nothing but a copy of his own story and waited all these days to get the original DVD of the same to quote the similarities of his script and with 'Drishyam' - as quoted by Satheesh's advocate. However, a clear picture is awaited on this issue. Hopefully there will be a press release from Jeethu and the producer of 'Drishyam' in the next few days.
