The Tamil film industry's most beloved star couple Suriya and Jyothika celebrate their eleventh wedding anniversary today.

The duo which got to work together for the first time in director  Vasanth's 'Poovellaam Kettu Paar', were only professional peers until they got back together to work in 'Kaakha Kaakha' which was directed by Gautham Menon.

Even though 'Kaakha kaakha' was primarily an action oriented film, the film's love parts were most talked about. This led to the couple acting in many of the future projects such as 'Perazhagan', 'Sillunnu Oru Kaadhal' and 'Maayavi'.

However, all wasn't cakewalk for the couple, as Suriya's father Sivakumar initially objected to the marriage. But over the course of time after talks with Jyothika, he signalled the green light for the celebrated couple's matrimony.

Jyothika and Suriya have become a household name among the state's people due to their excellent chemistry both on and off-screen. It is also to be noted that Jyothika helped Suriya learn Hindi for his role in 'Raktha Charithra'. It is Suriya who produced Jo's comeback film '36 Vayathiniley' and the soon to be released 'Magalir Mattum'. These instances show show how the couple complement each other.

Amidst the revival of Jyothika in women-centric roles recently, the actress never fails to fulfil her family responsibilities. The couple have two kids Dev and Diya. Suriya has also been a caring father and an affectionate husband.
