After the announcement of election dates and the rules, in terms of the unaccounted money and things seized Tamil Nadu is in number 1 position. The Lok Sabha elections begin in India from April 11, and will be conducted in 7 phases, and Tamil Nadu polling has been scheduled on April 18.
Since the election code of conduct came into effect, Election commission flying squads have been involved in extensive searches and enquiries across the nation to seize unaccounted or suspicious money and based on the amount seized so far, the Election Commission had released a report on the statistics.
As per the statewise report, it has been found that Tamil Nadu tops in the unaccounted money seized, and it has been revealed that a total of a massive 107 crores and 24 lakhs was seized by the flying squad. Uttar Pradesh is number 2, with 104 crores and 53 lakhs unaccounted money, and Andhra Pradesh with 103 crores, Punjab with 92 crores and 80 lakhs are in Number 3 and 4 positions respectively. Besides these, freebies worth 12 crores and 20 lakhs and a total of a whopping 539 crores and 992 lakhs have been seized, revealed the election commission report.
