A car that was allegedly driven by a 13-year-old ran over an elderly man who was seated on the side of the road near his residence in Tamil Nadu's Tiruppur on Sunday (November 25). CCTV footage of the incident has been released now, and it has been going viral on social media.

The 68-year-old man, identified as V. Gandhimanian, who has got fractured ribs and hands from the accident in Kuthuspuram street, has refused to file a complaint with the police as the family of the minor girl has assured him that they would take care of his medical expenses. The video shows the car running over the man, after which it comes to a halt. A man from the passenger side gets out and helps the minor girl out of the car as well, while people start gathering around the car.

Speaking to a news agency, one of Gandhimanian's sons reportedly said, "The accident was unfortunate but my father is now recovering from his injuries. It might take a few months for him to completely heal. She had been learning how to drive and was accompanied by a relative that evening. We agreed not to file a complaint."
