The one week long Tamil Nadu theatres strike has come to an end as the government of Tamil Nadu has assured that it will look into the abolishing of LBGT tax which is currently levied on top of GST by appointing a committee.  The establishment has also given assurance that other requests would be addressed within a week's time.

Since the Tamil Film Producers Council have not taken any decision regarding the release of new films and that strike could take longer to resolve, the theaters will operate from tomorrow (23/3/2018) by screening old hit movies and other language films.
