Tamil Nadu Theater Owners make a shocking decision

The standoff between the South Indian Film Producers and Digital Service Providers resulted in the stoppage of new movie releases from March 1. The Kerala and the Karnataka producers only conducted a token strike on that day but continued new releases and only the Tamil Nadu and AP units stood rigid.
Meanwhile the Telugu producers council too called off the strike after reaching an agreement with the DSPs and new movies are releasing this week. However the TFPC is still unbudged and an emergency meeting was conducted by the Theater Owners Association.
At the meeting the theater owners have concluded that the rigidity of the Producers is hurting them badly and they have to resort to running old movies which are not yielding any revenue. They have come to the conclusion that they may have to down shutters soon and have announced that from April 1st all the theaters in Tamil Nadu will stop functioning. Movie goers have taken to social media lamenting that a solution has to be arrived at soon between the TFPC and DSPs and not let the strike to prolong.
