The Tamil Nadu Theater Owners Association members today met in Chennai and various resolutions were passed that could affect film producers. A week earlier the association made a plea to the government to allow the increase of ticket prices. Among the highlights of todays meeting is the request to top heroes Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijay and Ajith to act in two films a year to bring in the audiences to theaters.
The other resolutions are as follows
* New movies should be screened on OTT only after 8 weeks of the theatrical release.
* New movies on OTT should be advertised only after the lapse of 4 weeks.
* For new movies maximum share amount should be 60%.
* A share of the revenue generated by films produced for screening in theaters should be given to the theaters when they are screened in OTT.
Requests to Govt
* Theaters should be allowed to charge maintenance charges as in other states.
* Theaters should be allowed to conduct commercial programs.
* Electricity bills and property taxes should be reduced.
* Request to the government to reconsider the demands already made and pass orders as soon as possible to make way for theaters to survive.
