Tamil Nadu: Video of students drinking alcohol inside school bus goes viral

A video showing school students from Tamil Nadu’s Chengalpattu district consuming alcohol inside a moving bus has surfaced online. The footage was reportedly uploaded online by one of the students in the bus.
The students, who are believed to be from a government school in Chengalpattu, are seen opening a bottle of beer and passing it around. The incident reportedly happened on Tuesday while the students, in their school uniforms, were on their way from Thirukazhukundram to Thachur. The district education official has apparently said that the concerned officials have taken note of the incident and police are conducting an inquiry.
“The incident has taken place outside the school and police has already commenced an investigation. Once they give the report, we will take appropriate action,” Chengalpattu District Education Officer Rose Nirmala was quoted as saying by a news agency.
