Several Malayalis, seeking to return to their hometown from Tamil Nadu, had secured a pass from the Kerala government amid lockdown. However, Kerala's pass seems to be not enough to leave the state as many applications for passes by Keralites are rejected by the TN government. Without Tamil Nadu e-pass, Keralites returning from Tamil Nadu cannot enter Kerala.
After the Kerala and Tamil Nadu DGP’s held a discussion on this matter, it was instructed that people should only apply for Tamil Nadu’s pass only after securing the pass from Kerala. But despite many following the instructions promptly by the public, several applications continue to be rejected.
It is said that the TN government is giving priority to only those who have emergencies such as medical treatment, weddings, funeral, etc. Applications from people who are seeking to return home owing to the fear of the deadly disease are rejected.
