Chief Ministers decision on Theatre Strike

The Tamil Nadu Theaters strike (barring Chennai city) has entered its sixth day and representatives of the Owners association today met the Chief Minister Edappadi Pazhaniswamy at his Greenways Road residence where minister Kadambur Raju was also present.

After the meeting, the theater owners association secretary Panneerselvam, speaking to newsmen revealed that he had requested that the 8 percent Local taxes for theaters on top of GST be abolished and the yearly licence renewal be changed to once in three years.  The CM had promised to look into the matter and let his decision be known within two days and Panneerselvam has informed that the strike will continue till an amicable resolution is arrived at.
