TN government passes orders relaxing coronavirus lockdown - details

The Tamil Nadu government after a high-level meeting between bureaucrats and the Chier Minister Edappadi Pazhaniswamy has announced relations in the coronavirus lockdown. State and Central government offices will resume functioning with 33 percent staffing and people will be also allowed to work under the 100 days employment scheme.
The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 (MGNREGA) guarantees 100 days of employment in a financial year to any rural household whose adult members are willing to do unskilled manual work. This sure would come as a relief for the rural underprivileged people whose livelihood was under threat during the lockdown. The relaxation will come into force after May 3rd which is the final day of the lockdown 2.0 announced by Prime Minister Modi. Regarding private and other businesses a decision will be made after the PM's video conference meeting with the state chief ministers scheduled on Monday, April 27th.
