The second wave of the deadly COVID 19 has started affecting the population alarmingly and Tamil Nadu is also in the red zone with close to ten thousand new cases every day. Chief Minister Edappadi Pazhaniswamy had an important meeting with heads of various departments today and has announced a new set of rules that will come into effect from April 20th.
According to the new lockdown rules, Sundays will see total shutdown excepting for essential services such as medicals, petrol bunks, and milk. Hotels will be allowed to serve only parcels from 6am- 10am, 12pm- 3pm and 6pm-9pm on Sundays.
Similarly, there will be total curfew every day from 10 pm to 4 am and public/ private transport not allowed to ply and inter-state/ district transport also suspended during this time period.
Tourism has been suspended in hill stations such as Nilgiris, Kodaikanal, Yercaud. and in the rest of the state, beaches, parks, zoos etc to be closed for public. - Only 50% of employees allowed to work in IT firm offices. Others should be given permission to work from home.
College, university exams & classes can be conducted online while 12th state board have been examinations postponed. Practical exams to go on as scheduled. 100 people are allowed for weddings and 50 for funerals.
