Tamil Nadu: Youth arrested for sending obscene pictures to minor female friend on Facebook

A 22-year-old man has been arrested for sending obscene pictures to a 16-year-old girl whom he had followed and become friends with on the social media app Facebook.
The accused, identified as Karthik, hails from Kermalam in Erode's Sathyamangalam and works as a farmer. He reportedly became friends with the minor girl on Facebook a few months ago. When they started getting close, the boy allegedly began sending her obscene pictures. Appalled and petrified, the girl informed her parents regarding the incident, who in turn registered a complaint with the Erode all-women police.
Upon inquiry, Karthik confessed to his crime following which an FIR was filed and he was booked under the POCSO Act. The accused has been arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
