Tamil Nadu government passes orders for permanently closing Tuticorin Sterlite factory

After years of protests and the killing of 14 lives due to the police firing, the Tamil Nadu government has finally passed the orders for permanently closing the Tuticorin Sterlite factory.  The orders have been issued today dated May 28th signed by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Pazhaniswamy.

Earlier the deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam too after visiting the people injured in the 22nd May police firing had also assured that his "Amma government" will do everything in its power to shutdown the Sterlite copper factory that has been functioning for the past 22 years in the area.
