The official update on the coronavirus patients count in Tamil Nadu shows another sharp increase with 105 new cases in the last twenty-four hours with the total number going up to 1477. The death toll is 15 with no new ones reported in the past two days.

Chennai has reported 50 new patients which is near about half the number of the state and in all the capital city now houses 285 patients which is the highest followed by Coimbatore with 133. Among the new patients in Chennai, four are doctors and one is a tenth standard student.

46 persons have been discharged today taking the total number of recoveries to 411 so far in the state. 40,876 samples and 35,741 individuals have been tested so far. 1987 people are under hospital isolation. 5,840 samples were tested today and the results are awaited.
