The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) has bestowed honour on Chennai for its contribution in music by selecting the city for the prestigious spot in Creative Cities Network.
Appreciating the achievement Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister Edappadi.K.Palaniswami has sent out an official release. Expressing his gratitute to UNESCO for the honor, the CM also extolled the people of Chennai and all musicians in light of this achievement.
In addition to this the CM went a step ahead thanking Prime Minister Modi for his congratulatory message for the same. Apart from Chennai, only two other Indian cities namely Jaipur and Varanasi have the credit of being in UNESCO’s creative cities network for music.
