Today has seen another sharp rise in the coronavirus cases in Tamil Nadu with 64 new positive cases in the state taking the total number of infected to 1885. 28 of those who tested positive in the past twenty-four hours are from Chennai taking the capital city's patients number past the five hundred marks to 523. 60 persons have recovered and discharged today and the big positive is that number has increased to 1020 til date. One life was lost today and the death count now stands at 24 from the state so far.

Other stats are 7495 samples have been tested today and 87,605 samples have been tested till date. 6621 persons tested today. 79,586 individuals tested so far in the state. Out of the total 1885 cases in TN, 1279 are male and 606 are women. Maximum cases (1554) are in the age group of 13-60. 110 children under the age of 12 have been affected by Coronavirus.
