Breaking: Tamil Nadu assembled election date announced!

It has been announced officially that the assembly elections for the state of Tamil Nadu will be held in a single phase on April 6 and the counting will be held on May 2.

This announcement was made by the chief election commissioner Sunil Arora at a press conference today. Other than Tamil Nadu, Puducherry also goes to polls on April 6 and Kanyakumari Byelection for Lok Sabha seat also will be also held on April 6.

The Important Dates are as follows: Issue of notification - March 2, Beginning of nominations - March 10, Last date for filing nominations - March 19, Scrutiny of nominations - March 20, Last date for withdrawal of nominations - March 22, Date of polling - April 6 and Counting - May 2. The model code of conduct comes into effect with the election date announcements.
