Famous Tamil film producer K. Muralidharan passed away suddenly due to a massive heart attack in his hometown in Kumbakonam. The film industry is in shock as he is not only a very prolific producer of films starring top heroes but was also an active member of the Producers Council.

K. Muralidharan along with his partners the late V. Swaminathan and G. Venugopal started the production house Lakshmi Movie Makers and bankrolled several film starring the biggest stars of Tamil cinema. Heroes who worked with LMM include Kamal Haasan ('Anbe Sivam'), Vijayakanth (Ulavathurai), Karthik (Gokulathil Seethai), Ajith (Unnai Thedi'), Vijay (Priyamudan), Dhanush (Pudhupettai) and Simbu (Silambattam). The last film produced by the trio was 'Sakalakala Vallavan' starring Jayam Ravi, Trisha and Anjali released in 2015.

V. Swaminathan who is the father of actor Ashwin Raja passed away during the pandemic after the virus infection. Celebrities and fans have taken to social media to condole the passing away of K. Muralidharan.
