Tamil film producer arrested for smuggling illegal liqour bottles in fake police car

The state and the central governments have enforced strict lockdown rules restricting movements only for essential services and emergencies. The Poonamalee police were involved in checking vehicular movements at Alapakkam in the outskirts of Chennai. A luxury vehicle was spotted with a temporary board reading POLICE on the windshield and when it was checked the cops were shocked to find many varieties of liquors numbering 240 in the boot.
Since liquor sales are prohibited in Chennai and four adjoining districts the police arrested those in the vehicle and it has come to light that one of them is a Tamil film producer named Kalaiselvan who has produced the film 'Dha Dha 87' released in 2019. The other person Anandaraj belongs to the medical profession and it is said that they were involved in selling the liquor bottles at a high rate to those desperate alcoholics.
