On January 20th the Pallikarnai area in Chennai went into shock as a woman's legs and right hand were found in a garbage dump. The police who started investigations based on the tattoo on the hand have now arrested Tamil film director Balakrishnan who has mercilessly murdered his wife Sandhya, cut her into pieces and threw her body . Balakrishnan has produced and directed a film 'Kadhal Ilavasam' in 2010. As the film failed he has been working as an assistant in other films.

In the investigation it has been found Sandhya hailed from Tuticorin and was living separately due to misunderstanding with her husband. Their divorce case is pending in the court and Balakrishnan learnt that Sandhya is friendly with another guy and he murdered her in Jafferkhanpet in Chennai. Acting on the details provided by the murderer the cops are searching for the rest of the body parts near Kasi theatre Chennai.
