Tamil film director C.V. Sasikumar passes away

Veteran director C.V. Sasikumar passed away on November 14th due to a heart attack at the Ramakrishna Hospital in Chennai. He was diagnosed wtih cancer and was under treatment for the same.

C.V. Sasikumar made his directorial debut in 1992 with 'Unnai Vaazthi Paadugiren' that starred Parthiban, Suman Ranganathan and Mohini in the lead roles with Ilayaraja scoring the music. In 1996 he made 'Sengottai' that had Action King Arjun, Meena and Ramba in the lead.

Since both the films failed at the box office Sasikumar worked as a scriptwriter collaborating with several directors in the past two decades. He has also directed a few episodes of the mega serial 'Mahabharatha' aired on Sun TV.
