The Vadapalani area in Chennai witnessed high drama as stunt choreographer Thavasi Raj attempted suicide in front of the Stunt Choreographers Union office by pouring petrol and trying to set himself on fire. The members of the union subdued him and a case has been registered at the local police station.

Sources have revealed that Thavasi Raj was holding the post of Vice President in the Stunt Union but was removed recently because he has not been involved in any recent movies. It is said that he tried to attack the President Somasundar and was fined rupees twenty-five thousand.

Thavasi Raj was required to render a public apology to the President and the office bearers of the stunt union at the executive committee meeting and after doing so got frustrated and took the extreme step.
