A Tamil actress has been arrested in Chennai for the murder of a small-time actor Ravi with whom she allegedly had an extramarital affair for several years. It is said that the 42-year-old Devi works as a junior actress in Tamil films and serials and though married with two children was in a relationship with Ravi. Later she had avoided Ravi and the family moved to a different location but Ravi for many years had been trying to get back with her.

Reportedly Ravi had traced Lakshmi the sister of Devi who is living with her husband and in the middle of the night had gone there and demanded that she reveal the whereabouts of her sister. Devi on learning about this had rushed to the spot with her husband and warned Ravi to leave her and her family alone but since the man was adamant that she come back with him a fight ensued.

According to eyewitnesses Devi aided by her husband, sister Laksmi and her husband started beating Ravi and she bludgeoned him with a hammer on his head and he fell in a pool of blood. The doctors confirmed that Ravi had passed away and Devi surrendered to the police who arrested and jailed all four involved and registered a case.
