The Television industry has been in a state of shock as Durga Menon, a 35-year-old anchor from Kerala, recently passed away due to lupus, an auto-immune disorder. She was being treated at a hospital in Kochi.
Durga Menon had been on life support for the past 21 days before a cardiac arrest ended her life. Her last rites were held at her native place Kodungallur.
Durga tasted instant success a few years ago when her show 'Love and Lost', a program that interacted with young lovers and was the first such show in South Indian television, earned good TRP ratings. She is survived by her husband Vinod and son Gowrinath.
