Tiger Shroff, the young, dynamic actor and son of legendary actor Jackie Shroff is on sky line thanks to the astounding success of his debut film HEROPANTI. The movie besides fetching junior Shroff stardom has won him honorary 5th degree black belt Kukkiwon -World Taekwondo Headquarters (part of the South Korean Government).
Tiger Shroff was awarded the honorary 5th degree black belt at Mumbai on July 30, 2014 after the officials Kukkiwon were impressed by his stunning action sequences and martial arts in his movie HEROPANTI. An official speaking to media said, "The reason why Kukkiwon has chosen Tiger Shroff for this honor is because believes Tiger Shroff is the ideal youth icon as he will inspire children and women to take up martial arts and self defense training in order to protect themselves."
Elated at receiving the award Tiger Shroff said, "Martial art is a way of my life as since childhood I have been attached to martial arts and a dedicated student of Martial arts. Though I feel happy at being honored with the title yet I feel I am too young to deserve this honor as I have to still learn a lot."
Prior to Tiger Shroff actor Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has also been conferred with the title "Honorary Black belt of Taekwondo. In addition South Indian sensational actor Mohanlal too has been awarded a black belt.
The Taekwondo Association of India has been on a mission to promote the art among youngsters, since Taekwondo is a sport in the Olympics.
