The name Tabassum Fatima Hashmi may not spark anything in a movie-goer’s mind but the name Tabu is sure to create excitement. 46-year old actress Tabu, who has been around for more than three decades now as an actress, has thanked her fans, well-wishers and supporters for the super-success of her latest film Golmaal Again which has so far netted over Rs.180 crores at the box-office.

Niece of national award-winning actress Shabana Azmi, Tabu is a multi-lingual laureate who is fluent in Tamil, Telugu, English, Urdu and Hindi.  She expressed her happiness now that Golmaal Again, which is the fourth instalment on the Golmaal series of films, has also been lauded by critics and movie-goers as the ‘best’ of all.

The Rohit Shetty-directed Golmaal Again had Tabu’s favourite hero Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Kulal Khemu, Parineeti Chopra and Tabu in the lead. Released across the globe on 20th October (day days after Deepavali), the film is said to have netted more than Rs.180 crores in halls across the globe.

The actress who hasn’t married once so far has starred along the likes of Dev Anand, Amitabh Bachchan, impressed viewers with mind-blowing performances in Maachis, Kalapani, Chandni Bar and Life of Pi en route winning the coveted national award for best actress six times and the ‘Padma Shri’ in 2011. “I’m now taking a break from films and would be back soon,” she assured.
