The Pakistan censor board has refused to certify 'Mulk', the Hindi-language courtroom drama in which Taapsee Pannu has played a defence lawyer defending a wrong Muslim family in a terror case.

The censor board of the neighbouring country has said that the film violates some rules. The makers of the film have expressed their disappointment over 'Mulk' facing the ban in the last minute.

In a letter to Pakistanis, its director Anubhav Sinha has said that the film is neither anti-Muslim (as some Pakistanis believe) or pro-Muslim (as some Indians believe). It speaks of love, he said. "You have Hindus as a minority in your country and we have Muslims as a minority in ours. We all must work towards co-existing in peace and harmony," Sinha has said.

Rishi Kapoor plays an old Muslim man in the film, which is getting positive reviews. It hit the screens today (August 3) across the world.
