Cricket and cinema are two most widely followed things in India and in coming months, we're about to see some collaboration between them. Two cricket centric movies '83' and 'Jersey' are set to release in a few weeks while the release date of third one has been announced recently. Taapsee Pannu starrer 'Shabas Mithu', the biopic of Indian Women's Cricket Team skipper Mitali Raj, is going to hit the screens on 4th of February 2022.

On the ocassion of Mitali's birthday on Friday, Taapsee took to Instragram to share a new poster and release date of the film. The poster featured Taapsee sporting iconic blue jersey with an intense look on her face. She captioned the post as, "ONE GIRL with HER CRICKET BAT has shattered world records and stereotypes. You've done it all Champ. Happy Birthday Mithu @mithaliraj #ShabaashMithu in theatres on 4|02|2022."

Talking about the project, Taapsee earlier said, “It’s going to be a tough project because of two reasons. Firstly, I will have to pick up the game of cricket, and second, I will have to enact Mithali on screen. It is tough to play her because she is absolutely the opposite of how I am. She is extremely calm, reserved, well-poised and speaks her mind eloquently. I am more of an impulsive person, I say things without processing them well enough."
