Taanakkaran
Vikram Prabhu has played a befitting cop in the films 'Sigaram Thodu' and 'Thuppakki Munai' in the past. Now, the actor is a police trainee in his upcoming movie 'Taanakkaran', directed by debutant Tamizh. For the unfamiliar, Tamizh is the actor who played the brutal cop SI Gurumoorthy in Suriya's Jai Bhim.
'Taanakkaran' also stars Anjali Nair, Lal, M.S.Bhaskar and Anbarasan in prominent roles. The movie deals with the hardships a slew of young police trainees faces at a police training camp. Vikram Prabhu will be seen as a short-tempered trainee who frequently questions the ruthless methods of his ruthless superiors and senior officers.
The storyline is reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick's 'Full Metal jacket', which deals with the brutality inside the western military forces. Ghibran has scored music for the film. The makers have skipped the theatrical release and the movie will premiere directly on Disney plus Hotstar but the official date is yet to arrive. Potential Studios LLP has produced this upcoming venture.
