Multi-talented legend T.Rajendhar is always known for expressing his bold opinions in public platforms. Now he is at it again. He has criticised Superstar Rajinikanth for not voicing against the high rate of GST for regional films which according to the industry is expected to severely affect the film business.

Apart from the 28% GST for movie tickets above Rs.100 and 18% for tickets up to Rs.100, the State Government has levied a tax of 30% on films through the local bodies which don't come under the purview of GST. This amounts to 58-62% tax on films.

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan voiced his opinion strongly against including regional films under the highest slab of GST. His long time friend and rival Rajinikanth is however silent on the issue ever since the rates of the GST were finalised and announced.

TR has asked Rajini that if he does not raise his voice for the Tamil cinema which has made him what he is today how people can believe that he will raise voice for people's issues when he comes to politics.
