Recently, actor Silambarasan's father and famous director and actor T.Rajendar flew abroad for advance medical treatment after suffering a sudden illness. A few weeks ago, T. Rajender was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai after suddenly developing chest pain. On examination there, the doctors advised that he had suffered a minor bleeding in his stomach and that he should be given advanced treatment. Subsequently, actor Silambarasan put his career on hold and flew to the USA to make arrangements for his father's treatment there. On June 14th TR, his wife Usha and son Kuralarasan went to New York and was admitted in a leading hospital there and doctors have declared him as cured.

A relieved Simbu returned to India to take part in the shooting of 'Pathu Thala' costarring Gautham Karthik and also the promotional activities of 'Maha' and 'Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu' releasing one after the other. Sources close to the family have revealed that TR will be staying in New York for another month to take rest and will return home after that.
