Thanks to Hardik Pandya's fabulous knock in the final over of the second T20I, India beat Australia by six wickets to win the series with a game to spare on Sunday at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
With 14 runs needed off the last over, Hardik Pandya hit two sixes to seal the game with two balls left. Yorker star T Natarajan proved his worth yet again in the first innings of the match after he finished with figures of 2/20 in his four-over spell, taking the wickets of D'Arcy Short and Moises Henriques. Acknowledging Natarajan's contribution to the victory, Hardik Pandya mentioned that the Man of the Match trophy should have been awarded to the rising star of India. "In T20s you actually have more time than you think. If we need 70-80 odd in 30 balls, I don't look at the whole thing and I break it down to 12 balls and focus more on the process than the end result. They were batting really well and we wanted to be positive and special mention to Natarajan as well. I thought he should be the Man of the Match, because the bowlers struggled here and he had a really good game," Pandya said during the post-match press conference.
"He gave us a target about 10 or 15 runs lower than what it would have been. He keeps it simple and I prefer people who don't complicate things," the middle order batsman added. With 5 wickets in his last two matches, Natarajan is the highest wicket taker so far in the three-match T20I series.
