Is there anything that unites the politician Chiranjeevi and politician Rajinikanth? While the political circumstances in the 2008 Andhra Pradesh and the 2017 Tamil Nadu are quite different, there is a similarity in the way the two superstars have behaved.

When Praja Rajyam Party was launched, Chiru made it a point to present Mother Teresa as a personality of major influence and inspiration. In fact, Teresa was always the Megastar's favourite person right from the time he started carrying out social service activities. So, his idolization of Teresa predates his politics.

Teresa has nothing to do with politics, so also the spiritual guru who must have come up with the 'Baba' symbol loaded with a vast philosophical meaning. And Rajinikanth is prominently seen using the symbol as he holds it dear to his spiritual self. His politics is "spiritual".

Both Teresa's portrait and the 'Baba' symbol are spiritual rather than political. That's what unites PRP and Rajini's yet-to-be-launched party.
