Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha's Tamil film '96' has released today after much confusion. The film was slated for release today the 4th of October and early morning 5 am shows were opened in many theaters across the city but the KDMs did not reach in time due to an issue related to the film's producer. The producer had to pay Rs. 3.5 Cr to actor Vishal and another crore to other parties. With the due amount not coming, the release was stalled. All negotiations failed.
This is when the 'Sye Raa' and 'Nawab' actor Vijay Sethupathi stepped in with a magnanimous decision. He agreed to shoulder all the loans pertaining to '96' and by doing so, the actor sacrificed his salary in order to ensure the film's release.
The gesture of Vijay Sethupathi is being lauded by one and all in Kollywood as very few heroes stand by their producers in the hour of need.
'96' will be remade in Telugu by producer Dil Raju.
