Everywhere, it's the 'Sye Raa' mania that we are witnessing. The historical has definitely managed to create so much interest in the audience. Megastar Chiranjeevi's only other film this decade was 'Khaidi No. 150', which released in January 2017. How does the mania for The Boss' comeback film compare to that for 'Sye Raa'?
"In many ways, the euphoria around 'Khaidi' was great. But since it was a regular commercial movie and was a remake, the average audience was not delirious about it. On the other hand, 'Sye Raa' is a rare genre. It's not a remake. Also, its production values are way too top-notch and 'Khaidi' doesn't compare anywhere," a fan comments.
Another fanboy says, "For whatever reason, 'Sye Raa' is unprecedented. 'Khaidi' was seen by many as a safe movie. 'Sye Raa' is a costume drama. Just take the cost into account. Its budget must be Rs 200 Cr. How does Chiru's previous movie even compare to this behemoth?"
"'Khaidi' had Devi Sri Prasad's chartbuster songs going for it. 'Sye Raa' is not a hit album. Despite this drawback, this film is carrying far more interest. Secondly, this one has released big-time in Hindi as well. So, it's being seen as Telugu cinema's pride," a commentator analyzes.
The film, directed by Surender Reddy, released today in 4,600 screens worldwide.
